Backyard Healthcare Project is dedicated to supporting our community’s health and wellness. Your support allows us to honor our commitment to keep care affordable and accessible for everyone in our community who needs us – regardless of their income.
A gift to Backyard Healthcare Project allows us to continue to provide these services through our low sliding scale, while also subsidizing care to low-income patients. When a person needs significant treatment and life situations prevent our sliding scale from being affordable, we make every effort to reduce our rate as much as possible. Your support enables us to do this with greater ease and frequency.
Backyard Healthcare Project is a Qualifying Charitable Organization, approved as such by the State Department of Revenue. You may claim an AZ tax credit for voluntary cash contributions you make during any taxable year to a Qualifying Charitable Organization. A Qualifying Charitable Organization is a charity that is a 501(c)3 that spends at least 50% of its budget on services to certain Arizona residents and in this case, who are low income residents.
Our nonprofit’s name Backyard Healthcare Project is listed on the Department of Revenue’s website as of December 1, 2015.
There was an increase this year to the maximum amount that taxpayers can claim. Taxpayers filing as “single” and “head of household” status may claim a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers filing as “married filing separate” may claim a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers that file as “married filing joint” may claim a maximum credit of $800.
How does it work?
It’s so easy! You report the name of the Qualifying Charitable Organization (in our case, Backyard Healthcare Project) you donated to as well as the dollar amount of your donation to the AZ Department of Revenue on Form 321. You get your donation amount back dollar-for-dollar when you file your taxes! It’s a win-win!
Just click the Donate button above to link to a secure paypal site and make a donation in the amount of your choice. It’s even possible to make the donation a recurring monthly amount! We also accept cash, checks (made out to Backyard Healthcare Project), and credit cards in person at the clinic.
